Woodstock Real Estate Update: September 2014

Real estate is a seasonal business, with the busy season for home sales falling in spring and summer for obvious reasons. The September real estate statistics for Woodstock and Cherokee County illustrate that with a slightly lower number of homes sold than the previous month, but the market is still performing well thanks to the popularity of Woodstock, Towne Lake, and the surrounding areas.

While the number of homes listed and sold fell ever so slightly in both Woodstock and Cherokee County, both markets saw an increase in the number of homes under contract. Average Days on Market, or DOM actually fell month-to-month for both, and the sales price to list price ratio held steady, dropping just one percentage point for Cherokee County. The average sales price to list price decreased in Woodstock, while in Cherokee County average sales and list prices increased.

The peak home-selling season may be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good time to sell.
